During the last weeks we have studied three complex mobilizations driven, to different and varying extents, by motivations based in agrarian contexts and social relations. Discuss and compare the agrarian origins and context of these mobilizations and how they connect to two important questions: First, the process of formation of political actors and, Second, the role of the State in shaping and being shaped by those actors. You can decide on a narrower question or approach rooted in this statement, but make sure you discuss it with me first! Please take advantage of office hours! And do not disregard the first week readings--make use of them.
